Alliance/Imperial costumes?

   Does anyone have any tips, pointers, or designs for making LoGH =
costumes for either side?
I was thinking of making an Alliance uniform because it looked easier, =
and I've got 0 experience making costumes or even sewing, but Imperial =
would also be fine, cause if there's anyone in LoGH I look like, it's =
Mecklinger (I've got the mustache and hair :)
   Oh, and hi!  I just joined the list, although over the last couple =
years I've scanned over the archived messages to find out what the =
latest subtitled episode was.  I've been a fan of LoGH since I saw =
episode 4 at a UT Anime showing a few years back, and it's still my =
favorite anime to date.

  PS - This costume would probably be for Project A-Kon only as I live =
in Texas, and I'm not rich enough to make it to the California cons.  =
I've also got friends who *might* dress up if we had a skit or something =
to do with LoGH, although I can't imagine what kind of skit would work =
considering the mostly non-humorous nature of the story.
