Legend of the Galactic Heroes is available on VHS and Laserdisc in Japan. There are also two movies, a special (Golden Wings), 110 episodes adapting the ten novel series, and two sets of side stories/prequels.
In 1999 at Anime Expo, a dubbed "pilot" episode was screened which features episodes 51 and 52 of the series. This pilot has been shown at several conventions since it's initial premiere. It is not available on video.
Other media include CDs, Music, Books, Manga, the original Novels, various Artbooks, and so forth.
